The founding thesis

Consequential breakthroughs need more than recognition. Moonshot Prize is being developed to connect ambitious challenges, patient philanthropy, independent judgment and measurable progress. Our ambition is an enduring prize institution of unprecedented scale.

The initiative is a proposed endowment program of Global Moonshots in Education, Inc., developed by Dr. Freedom Cheteni. Board approval is pending. No endowment balance or prize purse is represented as funded.

A concrete starting point: foundational learning

Learning for every child is a proposed inaugural challenge with a $1m illustrative working budget: $400,000 for awards, $200,000 for participants, $150,000 for verification, $150,000 for delivery and safeguards, and $100,000 for adoption. These are planning allowances awaiting feasibility, quotes and approval, not an approved ask or available purse.

Planetary Regeneration

Three ways to begin

  1. Shape a mission. Explore the problem your family wants to help solve and the evidence that would demonstrate success.
  2. Explore a lasting endowment. Model capital, distributions, costs and inflation with your advisers; discuss restrictions and governing authority.
  3. Support the path to adoption. Discuss participant support, independent verification, program operations and deployment. Any return-seeking investment discussion remains separate.

The operating model

Families receive an eligibility-reviewed planning workspace, capital scenarios, a research collection and a diligence checklist. Submitted relationships support private documents and continuing conversations. Administration includes scoped access, evidence-linked capital records, reviewer conflict controls, audit history and milestone tracking.

The conditions for a funded launch

Board authority; approved rules and eligibility; documented funding; independent appointments; agreed intellectual-property and confidentiality terms; delivery resources; safeguards; a verification plan; and formal gift or investment documents appropriate to the intended relationship.

Expressions of interest are nonbinding. This brief is not an offer of securities, a tax representation or an assurance of an award. Opal Group is the proposed annual host. Hosting arrangements, dates and venue remain to be confirmed. Research citations do not imply endorsement.

Your next conversation

Bring your family’s priority field, time horizon, preferred form of involvement and the questions your committee needs answered. The short introduction records your preferred next step and returns a submission receipt. Dr. Freedom Cheteni is the founding contact at info@globalmoonshots.org. A submission does not book a meeting. Optional contact and research permissions are separate.
