Reward a defined, independently assessed achievement.
Explore what patient capital could make possible. Adjust the assumptions, compare the trade-offs, and bring a clearer brief to your family’s advisers.
Compare a finite program, an enduring fund or a blend. These are distributions available for a program, not a forecast of beneficiaries or outcomes.
No preselected donation is submitted. Change any assumption, including contribution size. Amounts shown are not funds raised.
Ending capital: $541,557.1 nominal / $330,496.6 in today’s dollars. Cumulative capital costs: $104,645.3.
A current-use allocation is designed to decline to zero. Endowed capital can also lose purchasing power; no return or preservation of capital is guaranteed.
Constant returns are simplifying assumptions, not forecasts. The model excludes taxes, volatility, sequence risk, legal distribution rules and program operating costs beyond the capital-cost rate entered. A program budget must cover its own delivery and verification costs. Review actual arrangements with qualified advisers.
Capital and each contribution are split by the selected approach. Start-of-year contributions earn the assumed return and enter the cost base; end-of-year contributions enter after returns and costs, before distributions. Each bucket’s costs are the cost rate × invested capital, capped by assets. Endowed distributions are the distribution rate × invested capital, capped after costs. Current-use distributions equal the post-cost assets divided by the remaining years. Real capital = closing capital ÷ (1 + inflation)year. Each year: opening + contributions + return − costs − distributions = closing.
