MOONSHOT PRIZE — FOUNDING FACTS 24 October 2026 Moonshot Prize is an emerging prize initiative developed by Dr. Freedom Cheteni as a proposed program of Global Moonshots in Education, Inc. Board approval is pending. Proposed inaugural challenge: Learning for Every Child. The working objective connects foundational learning, independent verification and adoption. Numeric thresholds, eligibility, rulebook adoption, appointments, resources and award dates require approval before a formal competition opens. The USD 1,000,000 working budget is illustrative, not a funded purse. It includes USD 400,000 in proposed prize awards and USD 600,000 for participant support, independent verification, delivery, safeguards and adoption. Journal Opal is inspired by the contributions of family offices in the Opal Group network. Opal Group is the proposed annual host; arrangements, dates and venue remain to be confirmed. Network membership does not imply a donation or endorsement. No finalists or laureates have been announced. A journal publication, introduction, event registration or donation does not confer prize recognition. The medallion is a design study, not a manufactured or awarded object. The hero photograph includes an enhanced moon. Editorial images do not depict Moonshot-funded projects.
